Hillsboro Farmers’ Markets depends on great volunteers and interns to help make our markets a success! We have opportunities available at our markets and at our office. Volunteers can earn a market token for volunteering for shifts of 3 hours or more.
Sustainability Volunteer (May-Oct)
Do you love the environment and enjoy educating and helping those understand the importance of sorting waste properly? Help us provide valuable information and resources to our market customers at our waste stations.
Information Booth (May-Oct)
Do you love the market?! Help us provide valuable interaction and information to market customers at our information booth. Information Booth support may include greeting guests, handing out materials, assisting with giveaways, customer counts, and general staff help.
Market Sprouts (May-Oct)
Help kids engage with local farmers and get to know where their food comes from! Weekly activities will be provided free of charge for all kids attending the market. Market Sprouts support will include interacting with kids and families, running educational activities, and tracking participation.
Event Volunteer (May-Oct)
Help our market events be successful! Choose an individual event or help all season, it’s up to you. Event support may include assisting with set-up, greeting groups as they arrive, taking pictures, running activities, handing out samples, and more!
Crowd Count Volunteer (May-Oct)
Want a volunteer opportunity that you can do in 15 minutes?! This is the one for you! Help us collect important data by counting customers as they enter the market. It’s that easy, and it makes a huge impact.
Do you love social media? Do marketing materials make you smile? Then join us as a Marketing Intern to help us meet our marketing goals and strengthen our connections with the community. Duties will include assisting with social media campaigns, research best practices and alternative methods, and implement our annual marketing plan.
Market Kitchen Internship
Help us bring the love of cooking shows to the market – no cameras needed! Our Market Kitchen Intern will help recruit local talent for chef demonstrations and educational information sessions with the goal of providing market customers new ways of utilizing market produce and products.
Help us build sustainability into our systems and provide community education about sustainability topics. Duties will include assistance with developing and implementing a sustainability plan and connecting with key partners.
Farmers’ Market Internship
Do you love your local farmers market? Bring your passion here and learn the full impacts of farmers markets while assisting with the planning and implementation of our corner of the Hillsboro food system. Duties will include recruiting and interacting with vendors, day of set-up and operations, and program implementation.
