Hillsboro Markets' Vendor Handbook (Adobe Reader needed)

Who can sell at the market(s)? Which market is for me? Where do I park? Where do I unload? Can I sample? Answers to these questions and more can be found in the Hillsboro Markets' Vendor Handbook.

If you are interested in becoming a vendor at any of the Hillsboro Markets, please read the handbook for detailed information and guidelines. Prospective vendors must submit an application and payment prior to the date of the market at which they wish to sell. For more info contact Vendor Relations by using the form below.

Application Process

We are always looking for new, high quality growers, artisans, and unique food producers who use locally grown ingredients to add to our community markets. The application plays the main role in determining the best fits for our markets.

Before you begin filling out the application, read the Market Rules in the Vendor Handbook. Review the Market Profiles to see which market offers the best match for your situation. Check out Product Policies and Guidelines for info on market requirements, etc.

Please make sure to complete your application thoroughly and note the following:

Farmers List multiple parcels of land, and what is grown on each parcel.
Products Provide a complete list of all products you intend to sell. For farmers, this means a complete crop list. Vendors who wish to sell on-premise prepared or processed food products are required to have their products evaluated.
New vendors Please bring your product samples to the market office (call for appointment) for approval. Please make sure that you list all ingredient sources on your application.
Copies of all Relevant Licenses Depending on your product, there are different licenses and licensing agencies that may regulate your product. It is your responsibility to determine what licenses you may need and to submit copies of them to the market. We may be helpful in directing you to the correct agency; however, the agencies have the ultimately authority.
Liability Insurance Accepted Vendors are strongly encouraged to obtain liability insurance naming the corresponding market(s) as an additional insured.
All prepared food vendors are required to have a (minimum) $500,000 general liability policy or a (minimum) $500,000 product liability policy.
Please note: do not obtain insurance at the time of application - wait until your application is accepted. Insurance must be in place before your start date.
Application Fee Each interested Vendor must submit a corresponding $25 application fee with their application (one fee is required for either/both SFM & HMO and a seperate fee is required for the TMP). The fee helps to cover the time staff spends reviewing and processing applications.
Sign and Date Signing your application indicates your agreement to abide by all rules listed in the Hillsboro Markets Vendor Handbook.

RESOURCE: Please visit the Oregon Farmers' Markets Association website for other Oregon markets and general vendor info.
